House Plants

One of the big trends we are seeing in our homes  is the inclusion of house plants - they add such an organic and grounding feel to any room, be it the living room, kitchen, bedroom or bathroom.

Not only do they look beautiful but they are good for our health - bridging the connection between humans and nature, bringing the outdoors in.

Plants basically do the opposite of what we do when we breath - release oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide, thus eliminating harmful toxins and freshening up the air we breath. Studies have shown them to have positive psychological effects too, what more can we ask for from a humble plant.

Kings Plant Barn, St Lukes have a great selection of indoor plants on offer and lots of advice to be given by their very friendly staff.  Another great place to get your houseplants from is Monstera, located in the City Works Depot - these guys are so knowledgeable and passionate about their plants.

I finally moved with the groove and bought myself a house plant - a Kentia Palm - and much to my surprise it is still alive and I love it.   I just need to find a fabulous brass or copper pot for it to sit in and one day it may grow up to look like the image attached.

Go on….. buy yourself a houseplant.
