Freemans Bay

This kitchen is in stunning Freemans Bay, a minutes walk from the heart of Ponsonby. The homeowners love to entertain and wanted a kitchen that was bright and flowed well with their open plan living area. Part of my brief was to get as much storage as possible.  This was achieved in part by using the back of the island for reverse cabinetry and incorporating the use of Blum pullout units wherever possible.

The cabinetry is Messina Rigato Matte finish, with negative detail opening, giving the handleless look. The centre of the kitchen is the beautiful honed superwhite granite benchtop - ideal for entertaining around.  The benchtop itself is like an art piece, full of character and action.

The drawers are Blum Legrabox Blumotion in Orion Grey. The backsplash above the hob is mosaic tiles. All the appliances are Miele. The polished concrete floors (with underfloor heating) give a great industrial look and feel to the kitchen.

They opted for high gloss black, handless cabinetry, with pure white composite stone bench tops in the kitchen.
